Welcome to The Sipping Room, a gem nestled in the vibrant area of West India Quay, London. This exceptional venue, part of the renowned Drake and Morgan brand, is a perfect blend of contemporary dining and cozy atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by for brunch or seeking a delightful evening out, The Sipping Room promises an experience worth savoring.
As you step inside, you are greeted by tasteful floral decor that adds a charming touch to the ambiance. Guests often rave about the delightful outdoor seating, which perfectly complements both sunny afternoons and lively evenings. From the moment you enter, the friendly staff and quick service set the tone for a memorable dining experience.
The menu at The Sipping Room is truly a standout feature. It boasts an array of delicious options that cater to various tastes. For brunch enthusiasts, the sweet corn pancakes topped with salmon are a must-try, offering a unique flavor profile reminiscent of Venezuelan pancakes. If you’re in the mood for something hearty, the modern twist on the stargazy pie, featuring prawn instead of traditional fish heads, will undoubtedly impress.
Not to be overlooked are the vibrant dessert options, which many patrons declare as worthy of a visit on their own. The pumpkin soup and creamy opera cake, described as "unexpectedly tiramisu-like," showcase the kitchen’s creativity and attention to flavor. And for those who prefer vegetarian options, the veggie mezze platter receives accolades for its generous portions and delightful presentation.
While the drinks menu includes tempting choices like Aperol spritz, some guests recommend exploring the non-alcoholic cocktail selection, which adds a refreshing touch without the buzz. And if you’re a tea lover, be prepared for a robust green tea experience—though one guest did humorously note that the leaves could have made more pots!
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or unwinding after a long day at work, The Sipping Room serves as an inviting backdrop that blends elegance with comfort. Each visit seems to have its own story, with diners enjoying flashbacks of wistful evenings and cherished gatherings. The amalgamation of good food, friendly service, and a lively atmosphere makes The Sipping Room a standout choice in London’s diverse dining scene.
So, if you find yourself at Canary Wharf, do make a stop at The Sipping Room. The experience is sure to linger long in your memory, and the flavors might just beckon you back for more.
“ Drake and Morgan are everywhere. Stopped by for a quick brunch at The Sipping Room which serves their menu. The menu is quite nice as they had sweet corn pancakes with salmon which is obviously has a sweet kick to it and reminds me of Venezulan pancakes. There was also stargazy pie on the menu but it is a modern one with a prawn and not fish heads. Nice hot chocolate options like pear/tangerine. Finished with the green tea which was super strong. They put so much tea leaves which could have made more pots. Also had the duck buns which were not outstanding to be mentioned. ”
“ It’s worth visiting for the deserts alone! But yes, we were offered a table immediately and it was an extremely pleasant atmosphere sitting outside. We were served quickly and the food arrived without delay. Appreciated the vegi options on the menu and the non-alcoholic cocktail selection. Recommended! ”
“ I had my birthday there with 4 friends. Pre ordered drinks and food were very nicely presented. The veggie mezze platter was very nice and portion was good for 5 ladies, although we are small eaters. The Aperol spritz didn’t seem strong enough as I usually find else where but my girl friends loved the place with all floral decor. We were given a nice corner sofa inside, can’t complain as it was lovely there with good music etc. ”
“ Ended up here for a party and it was a lovely experience. The decoration was excellent. The staff were attentive and friendly. The three course meal was amazing. The pumpkin soup was very tasty, the roast had more than enough and wasn't overbearing with the "non" favourites. And the creamy opera cake was unexpectedly tiramisu-like. Maybe that's what opera cake is idk. Overall, a must try! ”
“ I went there last night with hubby and our daughter and loved the atmosphere and the vibe. The food was decent; however, my daughter's chicken was raw, and we had to tell the staff. They have all been very helpful and got her another fresh burger. The service was terrific. We had some nice beer as well. Perfect place to pop in just after you finish your work if you're in Canary Wharf, and that's what we did. ”
“ We stayed in the igloo for a dinner and it was amazing. The food was delicious and there were a lot of great options. The drinks were also good. The staff were amazing. In particular, Ansar was very friendly and we had amazing service from him! Would recommend booking an ingloo during the winter for a special evening. ”
“ With my husband, we had the pleasure of dining at Sipping Room Drake & Morgan at Canary Ward last night, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was cozy yet elegant, the food was absolutely delicious, and the evening was made even more memorable thanks to the impeccable service from our waitress, Mariola. From the moment we were seated, Mariola made us feel genuinely welcome. She struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our meal. She had excellent knowledge of the menu and offered great recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. Her professionalism and positive energy added such a lovely touch to the evening. A big thank you to Mariola and the entire team for making our dinner so special. We were looking for a place with a welcoming vibe, great food, and reasonable prices, and this spot exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended! Joanna and Gerard ”
“ We have booked a Christmas Igloo for a girls' night out, and we had a wonderful time! The service, food, and atmosphere were perfect! We would like to express our explicit gratitude to Anton for the special attention and for making our night even better! ”
